Calculating Your AI Footprint
To calculate the CO2 footprint of your AI usage, we consider the amount of LLM tokens used per year. Given that your solution has burned around 1 billion tokens, we calculate the total of emissions.
- 1000 tokens equal to 0.3 grams of CO2.
- The total emissions of 1 billion tokens is 300,000 grams, or 300 kgs of CO2/per year (~0.3 tons).
- For that amount of CO2, Trees for All will calculate (based on tree type, location and age) how many trees need to be planted.
