The challenge: From theory to practice

Although guidelines and a Swedish learning platform for AI were already available within the international organization, Scania Netherlands’ management noticed that the leap to daily practice remained too large. The existing resources were primarily focused on leadership, while the need lay in direct applicability on the shop floor.

With a positive attitude from management, the vision was clear: with the strategic choice for an Enterprise account, Scania possesses a secure and powerful foundation to utilize ChatGPT with company data, where speed in adoption directly contributes to more effective use in practice. Scania therefore sought a partner who could move quickly and provide training that went beyond “ChatGPT as a second Google.”

The solution: customization and co-creation

DataNorth AI was selected after a broad market orientation. The strength of the solution lay in the close collaboration between Caroline Brok (Director P&C) and the experts at DataNorth.

The approach consisted of:

  • Needs analysis: Use of internal data to align the training with the current level of the participants.

  • Iterative workshops: Three sessions were provided where feedback from the first session was directly incorporated into the subsequent sessions by trainer Chris van Riemsdijk.

  • Focus on ‘Deep usage’: Instead of superficial queries, the focus was on complex analyses, structuring reports, and using ChatGPT as a sparring partner.

The results: impact in figures

After the workshops were completed for the “Scania Professional” group in 2025, the survey results demonstrated an unprecedented impact:

Efficiency & Quality

  • 83% of participants experience a time savings of 11% to 50% on their daily tasks.

  • 1 participant even reports a time savings of more than 50%.

  • 100% of participants see an immediate improvement in the quality of their work.

Satisfaction & Applicability

  • 100% Customer Satisfaction: The training and the access to the Enterprise account were experienced as positive by everyone (75% and 92% “very positive,” respectively).

  • Applicability Score: An impressive 4.2 / 5. The training demonstrably helped participants translate theory into their own practice.

Top 5 applications within Scania:

  1. Drafting and improving emails.

  2. Summarizing complex documents.

  3. Preparing for (customer) meetings.

  4. Acting as a sparring partner for sales processes and advice.

  5. Structuring reports and minutes.

The shift has been made: ChatGPT is no longer used as a search engine, but as a full-fledged analytical partner that helps us work faster and better.
